OUR PROCESS
PREP WORK
When it comes to achieving a durable, long lasting, high quality factory finish, each stage of the finish processes success depends on how well the substrate was prepared. Mirka, Sia, and 3M are a few of the high quality abrasive products we use in our shop. By following their recommended process we’re able to insure that the finish we apply is not only beautiful, but will stand the test of time and achieve the highest levels of adhesion in the harshest of environments.
SEALERS AND PRIMERS
Once we've prepared the substrate properly, we begin the priming/sealing and leveling process. Again, following the strict standards determined by the coatings manufacturers we use a multi step process coupled with industrial grade wood coating to achieve the desired grain fill (depth of finish) the appropriate dry mil thickness (to insure we’re within manufacturers standards) and to provide a smooth level surface for the top coats. Typically primers and sealers provide the build and leveling qualities of the finish prior to achieving the desired performance standards of the top coats.
